All of these sports are backstops for our lives, from the small ones like backpacking or triathlons to the big ones, like running a marathon or doing yoga. Sometimes, they are just for the sake of it, but they all have their ups and downs. That’s why we need a backstop. For the first time in my life, I am back on a training schedule, and that’s a good thing.

I have been training for the last three months with the Backstop Sports team. Its a program that helps you get back into shape and then uses those results to help you achieve your goals. Backstops are very easy to use. I’m a very busy man and I sometimes forget to do a proper workout. This isn’t a huge issue because once I start backstopping, I’m done for the day. There’s a very simple way to do this too: You just have to make sure you are backstopping regularly. A couple of weeks ago I did a backstop workout and then forgot to do it again. Next time, I will go back to do it the proper way just so I can see improvement.
It sounds like you may be able to work on this. Its a very easy habit to fall into. I think some people find a routine that works and then just start ignoring it. I know I did and I didn’t even realize I was doing it. Just being consistent in your backstopping schedule can pay big dividends.
I think there are two general ways to backstop. One is the “no-mind” method which is to not think about the backstop at all. The other is to think about it but not worry about it. The idea is to not think about it, and to not get mentally hyped up about it. I would recommend working on the no-mind method first. Another thing I recommend is working on how to backstop regularly.
Backstopping can be a bit like a dog walking back and forth in a field. The longer you live with your backstopping schedule, the more you think about it, but you can’t get too excited about it.
